Central High's PE Grading scale is designed for participation-based assessment. Students must be in class to earn points. When students are not in class, they do not earn points and therefore are required to do PE make-ups to earn points missed from an excused absence. (Unexcused absences are not able to be made up).
PE MAKE-UP Policy: during DESIGNATED Academic Labs from 9:25-10:00am
-
Unexcused absences cannot be made up; detentions are assigned for skipping class.
-
Excused absences must be made up during the six-week grading period in which the absence occurred.
-
Students are not required to make up absences due to field trips or religious holidays.
-
Make-ups consist of a 35 minute workout in their target heart rate zone or 2 miles on the track. (Teacher will decide if it is an indoor or outdoor day)
-
Students must arrange to make up all written work (during academic lab or before class).
*ADDITIONAL MAKE-UP OPTION: Students have the option to complete a makeup on Strava 2x’s per grading period (4x’s total) – all others must be completed during a posted PE make-up session in academic lab.
